Summer in Netanya
​Summer is officially already here, and here is our opportunity to tell you about the range of summer events which Netanya is holding for its residents and visitors. Summer events are thanks to the cooperation of the various municipality divisions, support bodies headed by the Heychal Hatarbut Association, the Regaim association, the City Center Administration, the Netanya City Museum, Planetanya, and other partners.

This year, too, we will hold a variety of summer events for all ages and throughout the city, the veteran city center, and its neighborhoods. The events include performances by leading artists, summer parties, exciting workshops at Planetanya, exhibitions and activities at the Netanya Museum, special exhibitions at Heychal Hatarbut, competitive sporting events and sports with public participation, and of course – Netanya’s leading festivals which have already become a tradition: the Festivocali – the Hebrew song festival which is now in its seventh year will be dedicated this year to love and be called “the Festivocali of Love”, and the traditional beer festival in Atzmaut Square – the two festivals are attractions for Netanya residents, tourists, and visitors from abroad.

The Festivocali of Love 

The Festivocali of Love – the Hebrew song festival will be held for its seventh year in Netanya, in Ir Yamim, a neighborhood where all the streets are named after artists. This is the perfect location for the Hebrew song festival which has gained fame and attracts many people from all over Israel.

The Netanya Municipality, with the event being produced by Heychal Hatarbut, salutes Hebrew song for the seventh year running with the best of Israeli artists. The festival will begin on the eve of Tu B’Av and was therefore named the Festivocali of Love. The festival will again be concentrated in three locations, with emphasis on original productions for the festival, under the artistic direction of Ilan Gilboa.

On August 2, 2023 “Celebrating 60 years of Yoni Roeh with songs” in a performance which will host singers Pablo Rosenberg, Kobi Peretz, and Maya Avraham, with new and original arrangements of well-loved songs. His well-known songs include Eizo Medinah, Pri Ganech, Kotel Hamizrach, Names Mimech, Yom Sababa, the Margaritah medley, Ahavah Me'ever Lapinah, Yehi Ratzon, Halon Layam Hatichon, and Haverim Bekhol Minei Tzeva’im. 

On August 3, 2023, amazing singer Rita in a new performance with her great hits alongside songs which she hasn’t sung on stage for a long time, in a new musical production by Rami Kleinstein and accompanied by some of the country’s leading musicians. The songs will include: Bo, Atuf Berahamim, Kehi Lach, Sharah Barehovot, Mehakah, Rega Prati, Ani Hayah Li Miyom Leyom, Yemei Hatom, Shir Ahuvat Hasapan, Ad Sheta’azov, Mahol Metoraf, and many more great hits... 

At the Arik Einstein Culture and Community Center (area is accessible)

On August 1, 2023, Ma’alah Ma’alah will be performed – a salute to the composers and singers of Israeli rock music over the years, with singer and composer Ziv Rubinstein and his band, who will host singers Dafna Armoni and Sari. 

On August 2, 2023, Yoav Kutner in a tribute evening to Itzhak Klepter “Ad Olam Ahakeh”, who will host singer Yael Levi, and other musical ensembles. 

On August 3, 2023, during the afternoon, a new and original children’s performance “Yonatan V’haverim” [Yonatan and his friends] – children’s star Guy Friedman and a team of actors and musicians in a performance saluting the children’s songs of Yehonatan Geffen, Uzi Hitman, Nurit Hirsh, and Ehud Manor.

Singers Yehuda Elias, Dorit Reuveni, and Assaf Ashtar will host choral groups from around the country, on all the days of the festival, from the afternoon until the evening, with the best of Hebrew songs from over the years.

​The Beer Festival

will take place on August 8-9 in Atzmaut Square with the very best in beers from Israel and abroad, food stalls, food trucks, music, performances, and a hypnotic summer atmosphere. Entrance is free for ages 18+, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by their parents. 

In addition, the Netanya Municipality is running a range of other activities for the entire family for the benefit of its residents, including: the Summer Kickoff event which will take place on July 4 with bounce houses, the Bomba circus, Ninja trails, and a fun happening in Atzmaut Square. There will also be a Greek Taverna happening at the Arik Einstein Heychal Hatarbut. 

​Streetball – an international sports event, will take place on July 2-5 at Yahalom Sportech, Netanya East. This is a unique sporting event with the participation of the Israeli national team and women’s teams from Europe, as well as men’s teams from Israel and around the world. In addition, there will be a tournament for everyone with the participation of 100 children’s, youth, and adult teams – everyone is invited to come and enjoy themselves. 

An employment and opportunities fair will be held on July 10 in the municipal stadium from 10.00 a.m. - 3 p.m. The fair will include dozens of different employer stands, which will offer a variety of job placements to the general public. Among the companies which will participate and offer positions: Cellcom, Electra, Osem, Israel Police, Albaad, Ben-Security, Leumit Health Services, Tikshoov, ZARA, Kavim, Rami Levy, Talk2me, the Israel Prison Service, GA-DE Cosmetics, KONE, RE/MAX, the VERT Hotel, Nirlat, and more.

A giant performance by Lior Narkis will take place as part of the Pais Stage Events in Atzmaut Square on July 31.

On August 3-4, the preliminary rounds of the Israel Beach Volleyball Championships will take place on the Poleg Beach and the public is invited to come, watch, enjoy, and cheer the competitors on.  

​An evening with a French feel will be held on August 16 in the Gan Hamelech Amphitheater, and the next evening, on August 17, a special performance will be held in Atzmaut Square: “Summer, Sun and Music” with guest singer, Kristina Orbakaitė. A Carlebach Hazzanut concert by the water will be held in the Gan Hamelech Amphitheater on August 31, and will conclude the summer events.
