Planetanya – The Center for Science, Space and Culture

The Netanya Municipality views the educational reinforcement of science and technology as a primary objective. Netanya’s jewel in the crown for nurturing the study of science and technology is the Madarame Planetanya – the center for learning about science, space, and Japanese culture – which includes a scientific garden, a Japanese garden, ecological ponds, a conference hall, workshops, and a digital planetarium with some of the most state-of-the-art equipment for illustration and screening in the world. 

The site is intended to serve the entire population and offers a wide variety of activities in the content domains noted above, adapted for the various types of audience.

Activities on site

In the fields of science and space, the activities offered at Planetanya are intended to enable everyone, of every age and background, to experientally get to know and learn about the universe as wondrous and intriguing, and to understand science’s relevance to our personal, social, and cultural lives. 

The activities on Japanese culture take place in cooperation with the Israel-Japan Friendship Society and are sponsored by the Japanese embassy.
