Netanya. At the forefront of development

According to Engineer Eli Dalal, Director of the Local Planning and Building Committee, this is an extremely large number of permits, even in comparison to the decade, which shows us something about the great amount of development in the city of Netanya and the large demand for it.

Erez Tal, City Engineer, even emphasized the fact that in order to provide a solution for proper employment infrastructure, the building permits for residential use are provided together with building permits for industrial use. Thus, in January alone, permits were issued for 55,000 square meters of industrial, commercial use, and offices.

We ensure building of neighborhoods with high construction standards, but we also make sure to plan the public areas for the benefit of families, parents and children. I believe that all of this, along with Netanya’s wonderful beaches and promenades, the focused education system, and the green lungs in the city center – comprise the model for Netanya’s success”.

It should be noted that Netanya’s Outline Plan is anticipated to lead to an additional 50,000 housing units, a doubling in the area of employment areas to 8 million square meters, and an increase in the area intended for public institutions to around 2,800 dunams. As part of the Outline Plan, the population of the city is expected to increase to around 440,000 residents. 

Here are several of the new projects: south of the city center (Net 542 A), an outline plan has been approved for a framework for 6,300 housing units and 350,000 square meters of commercial and industrial use around a municipal park. 

North of this site, on the Harry Greental site (Net 556), there are already approved plans, to enable the construction of lofty towers around the park, a large part of which is an extensive park of sandy hills for conservation. Extensive infrastructure work is being carried out there, including moving the main road and creating the main drainage. 

The Agam Gimmel neighborhood is currently in the middle of infrastructure and development work, being carried out by Halat (Netanya Development and Tourism Company Ltd.), and the majority of the residential and employment units are currently under construction or being planned. 

In the north of the city, a plan for the establishment of the Havazelet neighborhood has been authorized, including 2,800 housing units which will include commercial, residential, 2,800 housing units, with the addition of 500 sheltered housing units, 60,000 square meters of employment, and public buildings and areas. 

Close to this neighborhood, infrastructure work is also being carried out for the Ein Techelet plan which includes around 800 housing units. 

In the east of the city, the plan for the Tzamarot neighborhood which completes the city on the east side has been approved and includes 3,100 housing units with an additional 400 sheltered housing units, local industrial and commercial use, and public areas. South of it, detailed planning for the Ilanot metropolitan recreation area has been renewed, which will also include a new general hospital and a metropolitan park together with the project for redirecting the Ilanot Stream which manages the erosion of the Ilanot Stream. 

Moreover – in the southwest of the city, a plan for residential areas and hotel industry has been approved – Shirat Hayam – with 2,000 housing units and a hotel industry site with 1,000 hotel rooms. So enjoy it in good health, Netanya!
