Netanya Municipality has signed a convention to reduce air pollution and is calling on Netanya residents to limit the number of bonfires and reduce air pollution, which is a threat to our health and contributes to global warming.
Lighting bonfires in the following areas is strictly prohibited:
All of the beaches and promenades (including barbecues), public parks, the Iris Reserve, Winter Lake Park (Hashlulit), memorial sites for fallen IDF soldiers: Beit Yad Labanim and the nearby Statue Park, Alexandroni Brigade Memorial and the industrial zones.
A list of recommended areas for bonfires can be found on the Netanya website
The public is kindly requested to act with care:
o Do not use wood substitutes, plastic products and metals.
o Do not throw flammable materials that may explode into the bonfire.
o Bring materials to extinguish the fire and do not leave bonfires unattended.
o Please leave the area clean when you are done.

An adult must be present at all bonfires until they have been put out fully, even if dealing with big kids.
*Select an open area for the bonfire that is free of brush and trees and where no electrical wires run overhead.
Define a safety zone that people must not cross around the bonfire with stones.
Keep children away from the fire and do not allow them to throw flammable objects and materials into it.
