Green Business contest:
The Netanya Green Business Conference, which will take place at the beginning of February, is dedicated to promoting and recognizing small- and medium-sized businesses in Netanya that care about the environment and contribute to local quality of life and society. So, even if you have a falafel stand and separate your trash, before throwing it out, or if you own a welding workshop that recycles bottles and reuses different materials, you can enter Netanya's Green Business contest, because all of us need to protect the environment.
Mayor Miriam Feirberg-Ikar:
Gearing up for the conference, Mayor Miriam Feirberg-Ikar added, "While the government and local authorities have the official responsibility for environmental protection, it is up to us as well. Without the involvement and support of the public and business sector, we will not achieve the desired results. This is why we decided to hold this unique conference, which is a first in Israel, and will develop a dialogue between the local authority, businesses and the community. At the conference, we will be honoring and recognizing the small- and medium-sized businesses in Netanya that contribute to a greener environment for us all."
As mentioned above, nominations for the contest are now being accepted and the conference organizers, Netanya Municipality, Department of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Agenda invite you to submit your nomination now. If you recycle waste, work to significantly reduce emissions produced by your business and/or if all of the vehicles your business operates are green - please nominate yourself.
Alternatively, we invite you to nominate small- or medium-sized businesses in Netanya that work to protect the environment. Feel free to submit names for the contest and the judges will contact them. And don't worry, participating in the contest is free. So, come on, maybe your hair stylist or greengrocer will be one of the nominees. Why not recommend them?
Another category of recognition that will be given at the conference is for the year's outstanding educational project. Children and parents, school principals, youth movement leaders, kindergarten teachers and even coordinators at senior housing facilities are welcome to nominate projects designed to promote green thinking in Netanya.
Netanya Green City Business Conference will take place on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the new Island Hotel.
Nominations and requests to participate in the contest are to be submitted by January 8, 2011 to GreenAgenda, PO Box 608, Hod Hasharon, Fax: 09-7481468, firstname.lastname@example.org
