In honor of Family Day, Yeshurun School decided to host Holocaust survivors who are active in AMCHA. Note that each year, Yeshurun students and staff adopt AMCHA members. Before Family Day, they decided to hold a major activity, in which the students put on a play, held a performance by the choir and a school music group played. Then, to end things on a sweet note, they all ate around tables.
Later, each Holocaust survivor received a flower and a keyring with their photo.
Yavne School decided to have second and third graders celebrate Family Day with parents and grandparents and sing songs about family together. The principal started the morning with greetings and thanked all of the participants.
Singer Sivan Elbaz then led everyone in song, and all of the students and guests received song books. Merav Alfasi collected the words and music for the songs, and provided each class with a disk before the activity so that they could prepare for the special morning.
The activity took place as part of the Karev Program, and was led by teacher Dorit Sheffy, the school's Karev Program Coordinator.
