Netanya Municipality continues to invest in the city's infrastructures, and it is now going to upgrade several streets, at a total cost of NIS 20 million.
The streets are Harechev, Hanagar and Ort, in the Kiryat Eliezer Industrial Zone; Arlozorov Street in Shikun Vatikim; Smilansky St. in the City Center; Yehosha Thon St. and Be'eri St., from Moshe Shapira St. to Sokolov St.
The work in the old industrial zone is designed to complete the unprecedented development there, as part of which the Municipality, through the Netanya Development Company, has done extensive and complex work to renovate the area.
Among the work done: paving Shechterman St., which is a main and important street in Netanya's northern industrial zone; installing new lighting systems, redoing the sidewalks and building a new road, drainage and replacing water and sewer infrastructures together with Mei Netanya.
Note that as part of the electric work in the street, and in conjunction with the Israel Electric Corporation, the entire electric grid was put underground and most of the poles were removed. Additionally, a new traffic circle was built at the corner of Shechterman and Ha'orzim Streets, and a new traffic light system at the corner of Shechterman and Ha'Plada Streets.
The road and sidewalks were also upgraded, including renewal of the underground infrastructures between Ha'Plada - from the corner of Shechterman and HaMasger, and parking lots were built down Ha'Orazim in the western section and down the street.
Before this, the Municipality paved the following streets in the industrial zone - He'Amal, Hamasger and HaOreg, three old streets, which had not been paved since the industrial zone was built. In Neot Ganim, the streets paved included Zamba, Montefiore, Bublik, Vitkin North, Shachal, Bussel, Sprinzak, Sarah Malkin and Aharonovich.
